Position Overview
Job Title: Dairy Farm Assistant (2 Positions)
Location: Eyrewell Forest, Canterbury
Farm Size: 320 hectares (fully irrigated)
Sector: Agriculture / Livestock / Environmental Management
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Work Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off (outside calving period)
Farm System: Contemporary dairy production operation
Key Duties – Ngā Kawenga Takohanga
- Assist with daily milking routines and livestock care
- Monitor herd health and support animal welfare practices
- Help manage pasture quality and general farm maintenance
- Operate tractors, farm vehicles, and modern agricultural equipment
- Collaborate with the Farm Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Promote environmentally sustainable farming methods
- Contribute positively to a team-oriented workplace culture

- Previous experience in dairy farming or livestock handling preferred
- Understanding of pasture management and farm systems

- Equipped with electronic cup removers (ECRs), in-bail teat spraying, and auto-drafting systems
